This is personal. I was on the Manhattan bridge on the Q train watching one of the towers burn and did my best scurrying around that day trying to help. September 11th is deeply important to me and I feel as the WTC towers should not be forgotten. It was part of such a iconic NYC package that we need to keep it alive. I admit that my rooting interest is for JSS as I’ve always admired his work and ideas (long-time A List Apart reader for awhile). I Love Typography — The first one’s the hardest by Jeremy Mickel

I love this article. Jeremy worked so hard on that typeface and I just felt so inspired reading it. He spend a year and half on Router and it’s simply brilliant. So much personality in such a elegant package. The italic “k” i simply brilliant. I’d totally punch a leprechaun in the face for this typeface.

• Smashing does a great job in delivering the 411 on Breadcrumbs (the nav kind). Well worth the click because they bring up many practical and useful usability considerations.
• Noupe’s showing you how to kick some ass with Fireworks. Fireworks is underrated for sure, this is good effort to get the word out.
• Jacob over at Six Revisions is done kickin’ ass and he’s now showing the fruits of his labor by sharing the best online typography tools.
• Boxes and Arrows talks about something I’ve never even considered. The internet can be accessed by anyone in the globe. I’ve never really taken into consideration anybody outside America and the UK basically. This kind of blew my mind.

• Smashing’s Ruby article is top notch. Jan Varwig takes you through the basics and explains to you what and why it is as popular as it is.
• Web Designer Depot introduces us to “Super Preview”; a stand alone app by Microsoft for web dev. Wow. It’s worth visiting for the other resources for testing they tacked on at the end!
• Web Designer Wall writes about something we should all get better at. Writing copy for the web. Even if I don’t write copy for a project, I look to make sure it’s easy to read and scan… which are some of the tips he harps on.
• Design Observer writes about Playboy’s bunny. Yeah, you heard me!
